Fresh from the Blog

This blog will outline the progress in restoring and updating this rustic 120 acre Maine camp.  The camp was purchased in 2024.   It consisted of wooded property with a small, completely off-grid, 450 sq. ft. cabin on a peninsula on Patten Pond in Talmadge Maine.  The cabin is only accessible by rowing a rowboat over to the peninsula.  No vehicle road or access.

Updates to the blog will be made as progress is made on the camp.

Our Camp

A Bit of History about the Camp

The camp property boundaries have existed pretty much as they are since the 1920s.   As far as I can tell there have only been a few owners since that time.  It stayed in the Patten family for years until it was sold to the Kevit family the 50s or early 60s.  We purchased it from the Kevit family in 2024.

Places

Things To Explore

Although the area is rural away from things, there are places to go and see within a moderate drive.

Aerial View of Cabin Peninsula

The cabin is ideally situated with south facing , 270 degree views of the pond.

Sunset Tranquility

This was taken just after sunset. The water was like glass.

Cozy Cabin

At about 20 x 20 feet the cabin is small…and very dark. The windows are small so the cabin is dark even during the day.

Rustic is the Word

The only water at the cabin is a hand pump that pumps water from the lake. Now if I could just get the pump to work.
