Restoration of a Rustic 1964 Cabin

There are a few things I need to update you on that have occurred over the winter. The first, and biggest happening is that the Waite General store has closed And not just closed to be sold to someone else. Like closed, closed. They sold all the fixtures, shelving, ice coolers, etc.. That is very disappointing since that was where you could find out what was going on in the area, what contractors to call, etc.. It was also a place where I could have packages delivered. Now, I don’ t know where I can do that. Given the location and lack of a postal address, packages cannot be delivered directly to the camp.

The second thing is that I have been unsuccessful in contacting the contractor that the dirt road guys recommended to work on the cabin. I have called the contractor number multiple times with no answer. The dirt road contractor, Gary, had warned me that he may not answer if it is an out of state area code. There is no active voicemail for that number to leave a message. Following our dirt contractor’s advice, I called the contractor’s wife at the bank where she works. I had to leave a message, but still no contact from the contractor. I’ll just have to keep trying I guess.
