Last night was much warmer—57 degrees when we woke up compared to 46 the night before. The cabin felt comfortable, and it was easier to get moving.
In the morning, I tackled a project I hadn’t expected to get to yet: clearing downed trees along the shoreline by the cabin. I was able to finish it completely, and the shoreline looks much better now. After that, I spent some time on the marsh path, working to make it easier to traverse from the end of the driveway to the camp. It’s still a long way from finished, but progress is being made. Meanwhile, Trudy has been steadily cleaning out the camp itself, which has made a huge difference.
Later, we (people and dogs) loaded into the car and drove to Lubec, Maine, the easternmost town in the U.S., right on the Canadian border. Our plan was to stop at Lubec Brewing and then find a restaurant for lunch, but being Sunday, nearly everything was closed. We made the best of it: Lubec Brewing was open, and so was a small coffee shop next door, where we grabbed sandwiches. We brought them back to the brewery to eat while enjoying live Celtic music from a multi-piece group. It turned into a lovely afternoon.
We rushed back home just in time to catch the Eagles’ second win of the season, a satisfying way to end the day.
