Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike. What day is it, Mike?

Guess what day it is. It’s Dump Daaaay! It’s Dump Daaaaay!

Time for a trip to the dump to start clearing out some of all these boxes that I’ve accumulated from all the supplies I brought up. So, of course, heading down to the recycling center involves going past the Old School Family Restaurant, so I stopped there for breakfast—another wonderful breakfast.

Stopped at the recycling center and headed down to the truck stop where the showers are. Unfortunately, all the showers were dirty when I got there, so I waited for about half an hour. Eventually, I did get into the shower, and it was wonderful—but it didn’t do me much good since there is a heat wave going on. By the time I got back to camp, and started working I was immediately dripping with sweat again.

We were trying to set up a call with Trudy and potential renters of our Garage Mahal rental property in Florida, so I was hesitant to wander too far from camp. I ended up spending the day clearing out some dead trees and low-hanging branches near the shoreline. The difference in the view is amazing. Pictures posted below.

Tonight I watched the Phillies game—they won, yay!

Tomorrow is going to be a busy one. Honestly, I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed with all the big projects I haven’t made much progress on yet. I need to:

• Order the roofing material and get the camp re-roofed

• Order lumber and reframe the future bathroom in the cabin.

• Prepare for the lumber delivery and build the walkway across the marshy area.

Three big jobs that will each take a lot of time. I just have to remind myself: one step at a time. Do one thing at a time.

Today, I’m planning to work on getting across the rest of the marsh to the road and see if I can establish even a simple walking trail. The cold front is supposed to come through later today, so it should be much more pleasant tomorrow and going forward—both during the day and at night.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Bye for now.
