Today was all about one goal: getting the first wall of the new bathroom up inside the cabin. After a full day of measuring, cutting, re-cutting, adjusting, and plenty of head-scratching, I finally got that wall framed and secured—and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Progress!

This new wall includes a proper six-panel pine door—a huge step up from the cabin’s existing setup. Until now, the only door in the place was the front door, made from ¾” lumber. So yeah, we’re classing up the joint a bit.

The bathroom is going into a corner of the cabin, so I only need two walls to enclose it. Today was wall one. Tomorrow I’ll focus on wall two, though I don’t yet have the v-groove pine for the finished interior. I’ll need to order that soon. Still, I did manage to install Rockwool insulation in today’s wall to help with sound deadening, so it at least looks and feels like a real wall, even if it’s not finished.

I don’t have any more of that insulation left, so tomorrow’s wall will go up without it—unless I happen to make another Home Depot run. I’m also hoping to hear from the metal roofing producer soon, and if I do end up heading in that direction—possibly toward Bangor—I’ll plan to stop and restock some of these supplies.

Nothing wildly exciting happened today (unless you’re a fan of framing and insulation), but getting that wall up felt like a real win. Tomorrow may be another quiet, productive day as I tackle the next piece of the bathroom puzzle.

That’s it for Day 14. Hope your day was a good one.
