Today was a slow, low-energy day. I spent most of it working on the second bathroom wall, but I just couldn’t seem to get any momentum. Not much happened beyond that. The most productive task I managed was ferrying the rest of the lumber from my neighbor’s property across the water to the cabin via the rowboat. That was at least a bit of forward movement.
I did get most of the wall framed, though there’s still a closet to build in and the rest of the wall to finish. Eventually I’ll be ready to order some V-notch pine boards to create the finished wall surface, and I’m actually looking forward to that part.
Things are about to ramp up in a big way. I’m expecting a call any day now from the roofing company letting me know the new metal roofing is ready for pickup. Once that happens, I’ll need to strip off the existing roll roofing and install the new panels—definitely shaping up to be a week-long job.
Also on the near horizon: the 6×6 posts I ordered should be delivered by Wednesday or Thursday. I still need to finish installing the composting toilet, and somehow I have to carve out time for a trip to the laundromat. It’s going to be a full, demanding week ahead.
Hope everyone else had a good, restful Sunday.
