Day 33 – Thursday, August 21

Today was another exhausting day, but a big milestone: I finally got the last two roof panels installed. There’s still some touch-up work left to do, but for now the roof is complete. I can leave the finishing details until next year, and I’m very relieved to have the bulk of the project wrapped up before heading back to North Carolina.

The highlight of the day wasn’t even about the roof—it was a visit from my hummingbird. This little bird had stopped by earlier in my stay, and today, while I was up on the roof, it came back. It hovered right in front of me for about three seconds, then darted off again. Apparently, I didn’t pass the test for being flower-like enough to provide nectar.

Not much more to say—completely worn out tonight. See you tomorrow.
